I started a Ketogenic diet on March 27, 2018. For this diet (or “way of eating” as some refer to Keto), I’m cutting out most sugar, flour, rice, and starches (these are all high in carbohydrates). Second, I’m increasing my fat intake so that my body uses fat (including stored fat) instead of sugar for energy. Third, I fast one day a week, or just skip lunch. Intermittent fasting keeps my body in a constant state of Ketosis, which makes my body burn even more stored fat. For more info on that diet see HealthLine and Diet Doctor and many other websites).
So far, I’ve lost over 27 pounds. I gained some back when I ate normal Thanksgiving and Christmas desserts, but I plan to continue until I’m down to my ideal weight, maybe longer. I plan to continue and maintain this way of eating because it helps my blood sugar level stay low and keep my mind clear (less glucose is proven to help mental focus and lessen fatigue). Because most preachers and pastors are notoriously sedentary, (lets face it, unless you carry around Grandma’s huge family Bible AND the coffee table it sat on, you aren’t going to get much physical exercise just sitting and studying). So I’d love to share my recipes with you. I will continue to share my favorite recipes on this page. And I guarantee, these are delicious (or I would not be eating them!)
