Yesterday on National Geographic Channel, I saw archeological proof of Joseph's underground silos used to store food during the seven plenteous years of Egypt. American archeologist Mark Lehner said: "We've begun to clear a very big double-walled and triple-walled building, and inside we find lots of chambers, evidence of weaving, copperwork and a big court where we found the sunken silos. It could be a palace, or some sort of administration building. If this site follows the pattern of other sites, we should have the residence of an important person on the site." If that person turns out to be one of the ancient Pharaohs, a unique archaeological treasure could lie beneath the playing field—Egypt's first Old Kingdom royal palace.

III. God calls believers to live the Christ-Life, shining His light into a dark world. (John 1:4-7) & (John 3:19-21) (The word "light" appears 235 times in the Bible.) He calls, who will answer? An answering machine?a. The foundation is always Christ. (1 Corinthians 3:11-15)
b. The walls of the building (metaphorically speaking) protect us from outside forces. (Ephesians 2:20-22) (Ephesians 6:16)
c. The interior walls of the building protect us from ourselves. (2 Timothy 2:19-26)
(Genesis 11:31) And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. 32.And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
A. God might have called Terah, Abram's father to go to Canaan. Terah took Abram and his family and set out for the land of Canaan. He never made it all the way to Canaan. When He came to Haran, he "dwelt" there.
1. Maybe he didn't want to leave his comfort zone.
2. Maybe he was too old to make the trip. He was about 175 when they left Ur.
3. He was secure in Haran. Why move? He lived in Haran about 30 years.
4. Abram answered the call, and honored his elderly father. (Acts 7:2-4)

7. Israel when leaving Egypt – result: 40 years wandering, and no promised land.
8. Israel many times disregarded the call through the prophets – result: lost their nation and refused Jesus as Messiah.
9. USA? Jesus is calling. Will we answer the call or let the answering machine get it?
