The deadly danger of drifting

(James 4:8)

I. Drifting requires no effort! Sounds like a lot of saints, drifting with a diminishing desire for God. Many are drifting downward. Aimless with no direction. Many just go down, down in spirit, down in service!

A. A sad spiral. (Proverbs 14:9)

B. A sad sight. "Look up"

C. A sad stain. How many have stained their testimony by just one bad decision. (Proverbs 4:26) (1 Peter 5:7)

II. Many are drifting in darkness. (Galatians 5:16)

A. Many can not see the truth. (Proverbs 4:19)

1. They Can not see.

2. Many are drifting not only from God, but also the grace.

B. They can not shine.

1. No touch

2. No tenderness

3. No testimony.

C. They can not serve.

III. Many are drifting in delusion. (Isaiah 59:2)

A. Drifting from the fire.

1. If you lose your zeal, you will lose the feel!

B. Drifting from the faith. (Psalms 66:18)

1. The devil is having a hard time finding a fundamental Church to mess up. Not many left.

C. Drifting from fellowship. (1 Corinthians 4:2) (Hebrews 10:25)
